Stock forks, not great, ATF is about 6w and too stiff. I run a 2.5w-5 fork oil. Oil level is important. Late xr250 forks slightly better but really need about $500 worth of revalve mods from Bruce in NC to make them great. Xr400 forks, xlnt but need different triple clamps. Worst part about L is bicycle ball bearings instead of timkens on stem.
I've had a look at the haynes manual. It goes on about dropping the forks out, dismantling the fork altogether, THEN putting the oil in, before putting it all back together again. The Forks on my cbr400 look like it has an "oil drain screw" at the bottom of each fork. Can I change the oil with the forks still in the yokes etc?

The maintenance schedule is every 4K miles or 6.4K km for the Honda Grom. It repeats in cycles of 1-3 periods; follow this pattern after the end of the maintenance schedule. The break in is omitted (it has already passed for this model). It was to change the oil filter and set the idle speed.
